Phoenix Contact North America Headquarters COVID-19 Compliance
PROJECT INFO
Although this project has been in the planning since 2017, the inception of this actual project coincided with the pandemic in an effort to provide a safer heating and cooling environment for the employees at Phoenix Contact.
This project was to remove a very outdated water source heating system that was installed when the building was built in the early to mid 1980’s. At that time the system was code compliant but not anywhere near today’s standards. With the pandemic of 2020, it was determined that the older systems did not provide the outside air and filter properties for virus control with in an indoor space. After removal of the entire outdated HVAC and corresponding piping and ductwork, a new Roof Top Unit and complete VAV system heating and cooling system was installed including the controls being integrated into the Building Automation System. Also included was superior air cleaning technology that utilizes bipolar ionization to assist in mitigating airborne infectious diseases.
While this was occurring, we also overseen some architectural modifications including new rooms and a complete new suspended ceiling throughout the limit of construction.
